Health Benefits of the Acai Berry

The acai berry is grown in the rainforests of South America. The palm trees which they grow on are slender palms and can range anywhere from 15 to 30 meters in height, with their leaves up to 3 meters in length.

The fruit, is only a small, round berry which measures only about 1 inch in circumference. The berry is a deep purple and somewhat resembles a blueberry. It has one large seed in the center, which takes up about 80 percent of the acai berry. However, even though there is not much flesh to this berry, it contains many essential nutrients which makes harvesting this small acai berry well worth it. Read more...
